earlybird olive.

this weekend, we went to a yummy local steakhouse to celebrate a double birthday!  {my mom + one of her closest friends}.  not wanting to do jeans and not wanting to be too overdressed, i went with this awesome calvin klein military dress that i recently scored at tj maxx {holler}:

 

i'm totally adoring all things olive right now.  donna karan's pre-fall '11 runway was littered with militant olive, which inspired the look above except i decided to soften it up with one of my favorite color combos, olive + pale pink.  this should go to show that your look doesn't have to be matchy-matchy to work.  play with a trend that you're loving, but tailor it to make it your own.  do you prefer stripes to florals?  play and see if it works!
