a chicago state of mind.

i'll admit, i never really wanted to give the windy city a fair chance.  it's constantly compared to new york {my first love}, so i've been resistant. . . until our recent girls trip.  i adored it!  {the best part?  the shopping is all centrally located on michigan avenue}  we had a lovely time and here are the photos to prove it:

left, a bit of {harmless} shopping // right, an old chicago building

left, {heavenly} street view from our hotel // right, a kiddo that hid away in a store to read! adorbs.

left, sipping a bellini at RL // right, cookies for dessert

high tea at the peninsula - amazing!

left, our spread // right, purple macaroons

digging the airy floor to ceiling window treatments - so effective!

left, cute apple window display // right, killer alexander mcQueen clutch

left, italian dinner at rosebud // right, lunch at le colonial {mmMm}

the hancock observatory was the perfect spot for an afternoon cocktail- such a view!

  1. I just spent the weekend in Chicago myself. I loved it...I am still in nearby Deerfield- and I'll be back to Chicago one last day. Any suggestions?

  4. Hi Anna! I just found you via Glitter Guide (great feature, btw!). I love your blog and am so impressed with the work you've done here at Tulip Louise and independently... You're a girl on the move! I have visited Chicago once and absolutely loved it! Next time I want to visit Frank Lloyd Wright's homes, though. Missed that the first time.

    Thanks for sharing your trip!

  7. Please could you tell me what you used for the photos of Chicago? Did you do them on a normal camera and then photoshop them?
